Taylor Made BDX Clare Valley Cabernet Blend
A delicious modern Australian version of an old world classic. This is a full bodied wine with complex layers of flavour. At its core is rich blackcurrant, and dark cherry, beautifully melding with dark chocolate and hints of charry oak with supple underlying tannins. Overall a very generous, balanced and most enjoyable wine.

Côtes de Bordeaux is a Bordeaux appellation that was upgraded early in the new century, and Château Réaut is a recently upgraded property. Beginning in 2004, new owners have completely replanted the 26ha estate, formerly known as Réaut la Graviére, taking full advantage of south-facing hillsides above the Garonne River with excellent, deep, gravelly, clay and limestone soils. The vines, 58% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, are close-planted (5500 vines per hectare) so as to reduce yields and improve flavour intensity. The first new Château Réaut was the 2009.

In 1997 they planted 100 acres of wine grapes and held their breath. Then another 50 acres were planted in 1998, making Willow Bridge the biggest planting in what was then a largely unknown region. The vineyard is sited high on the western watershed of the Darling Ranges, with the vines enjoying spectacular views over the coastal plain, and across the waters of Geographe Bay to Cape Naturaliste. The vineyard is 25km from the coast as the crow flies, and receives the cooling afternoon sea breeze during summer. At an elevation between 230 and 280 meters, the estate is generally two degrees or more cooler than the coastal plain, with ripening times similar to the cool southern parts of the neighbouring Margaret River wine region.
