The wine is immediately appealing on the nose showing brightly fruited notes of lemon peel, white fleshy nectarine and grapefruit with a subtle touch of sweet basil leaves. It is juicy and vibrant on the palate with youthful fruit intensity together with crisp acidity, finishing long and mouth-watering.

A richer take on Sauvignon Blanc thanks to the influence of barrel fermentation, which transforms the wine into a complex and compelling style. Superb.Lemon gold colour. Lifted passionfruit, guava, nettle and cedar oak. A bold and powerful style with layers of citrus and tropical fruit, touches of jalapeño and sandalwood, creamy texture and oak in balance with the ripe fruit. A complex style.

Pale yellow youthful green tinges, which I equate with quality young chardonnay. Aromatics are instantly very serious. Intense fruit nectarines and white peaches melding with lemon citrus beautiful French oak hovering just above the wine at the moment intense more than a cursory nod to Burgundy. The tiniest whiff of sulphides perfect for a wine of this age. When sipped, the wine shows its incredible intensity, no doubt derived from the very low yield.

2020 A mild 2020 spring with reasonable rainfall provided excellent growing conditions. A wet November followed by a warm and dry December and January set the vines for up for a regular season.However wet and humid conditions in February created an unusual vintage with extreme weather. As a result, the 2021 vintage required extra work and attention to detail in the vineyard. The final wines show incredible flavour at lower Baume’s with bright natural acidity. Great fruit purity and varietal expression.

The Chardonnay is from low-yielding Gin Gin vines that are now over 20 years old. Painstakingly converted them to cane pruning (from the established spur pruning). The parcels were hand-harvested, foot stomped and naturally fermented in a mix of concrete egg (20%) and old barrels (80%). It only received a rough filtering to, keep the wine as close to the vineyard as possible. Fresh, crisp, organic Chardonnay.

The 2024 Pedestal Chardonnay from Margaret River, crafted by the renowned Larry Cherubino Wines in Western Australia, is a true masterpiece. A pale straw hue with golden highlights greets the eye, hinting at the wine's complexity and depth. On the nose, aromas of ripe peach, tropical fruits, and vanilla mingle with a touch of oak. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, with flavours of juicy pineapple, buttery toast, and a subtle hint of citrus. The judicious use of oak adds a delightful layer of complexity and structure. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a lingering impression of ripe fruits and a touch of minerality.
