A blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (38%) and Cabernet Franc (12%) Aromas of red berries, mushrooms and earthiness. The pallet is alive with red fruit, cassis and forest floor. A soft and elegant tannin profile with great structure.

The aroma is of blackberry and cassis with no leafiness and an earthy, Moroccan leather bouquet typical of the Whalebone terroir. The flavours are rich and strong with an underlying fresh varietal complexity including the spiciness of Cabernet and the fresh leather and anise of Shiraz. The tannins are at once grainy and substantial providing a savoury and long finish. This is an excellent example of Australias own red blend and a pure expression of these unique terroirs.

A beautiful salmon pink with wonderful fruit aromas of pomegranate, rhubarb, pink grapefruit and hints of rosewater. There are strawberry, peach and pomegranate fruits on the palate which is nicely textured with fine, crisp acidity and freshness on the finish. Founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930, Chateau Musar lies in a 17th century Mzar castle in Ghazir, just North of Beruit overlooking the Mediterranean sea. One of the great wines of the world Chateau Musar has been run by Gaston's sons, Serge (who studied winemaking under the great Emile Peynaud at the University of Bordeaux) and Ronald since 1959. The grand vin is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvedre with the white wine being a blend of native varieties including Merwah and Obaideh. With glowing reviews from international wine critics, Chateau Musar produces an earthy complex range of wines that age beautifully and Serge Hochar was awarded the first Decanter magazine "Man of the Year in 1984".

Pinot Noir 60%, Sangiovese 28%, Shiraz 12% All the individual varieties were fermented separately in small 2 tonne parcels. The fruit was 100% destemmed and pressed after 18 days on skins. The Pinot Noir and Sangiovese were blended together immediately after pressing and the Shiraz shortly after to ensure a longer period of time for the varieties to integrate. Nick made wine in Khakheti in Georgia for several years, has toured extensively through France, New Zealand and Californian wine regions and is a regular judge at many regional and national wine shows including in Sydney and Queensland. Nick lives in Canberra with his wife Sarah and their two young children.
