This excellent expression of Chardonnay, partly due to only limited time in oak, is light, fresh and zesty but with inherent complexity. Pale straw in colour, this wine exhibits lifted nectarine and white blossom characters with underlying minerality and depth. The palate is clean and lively with tremendous depth of ripe stone-fruit flavour nuanced by cashew notes. A refreshing backbone of natural grape acidity provides further structure and length.

Evans & Tate is arguable the most famous name in Western Australia wine, and now the Tate name has been re-born in the Franklin Tate Estates wines made by esteemed winemaker, Rory Clifton-Parks. Vino were very excited to get their hands on fruit from an organic vineyard in Metricup for their Chardonnay, and you shoujld be very exicted to drink this gorgeous wine. The fruit was given the rockstar treatment before fermenting in barrel, where it underwent full malolactic fermentation; expect creamy, buttery notes, but not overdone. Citrus and stone fruit notes are on display here, with lees ageing adding lots of texture, while the high acidity is fresh and mouth-watering. Drink it by itself or pair it with a broad range of foods – either way, you're in for a real treat.
