Brilliant very pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of green apple, red apple skin and orange zest have a subtle waxy overlay with hints of pear also evident. Nicely textured the palate opens with pear and red apple skin flavours which overlay a delicate citrusy honeysuckle like back drop. Finishes dry with lively acidity and a tangy aftertaste. A lovely and unusual Sauvignon Blanc from Hawkes Bay. It is barrel-fermented with a touch of Semillon and Sauvignon Gris. This wine has aromas of citrus blossom, pear and stone fruit and will evolve in the bottle for five years from harvest.
