Classic Cabernet aromas of briary, blackberry and blackcurrant, with hints of cedar cigar box. On the palate flavours of liquorice and blackberry with classic fine Cabernet tannins. Made from selected parcels from Moppa Springs Estate around Greenock in the famous Barossa Valley, this wine is typical of the Barossa Cabernet Sauvigon style. A fine, well balanced wine that was aged for 31 months in a combination of French and American oak. Cellar for up to 10 years.

The Barossa we love today was heavily influenced by the Barossa Deutsche. Their legacy can still be clearly seen in the patchwork of vineyards across the Valley floor today.Using only fruit from a friends old vines, the 2017 Vintage was matured for 2years in a blend of French and American oak. Black Cherries are apparent on the nose, backed-up on the palate by cassis and spice-laden chocolate. TASTING NOTESThe dark, brooding regional characters of plum, red cherry and liquorice are all to the fore of this wine.The palate is focused and linear, with dark bitter chocolate notes and an elegant long persistent finish. We recommend cellaring for 10 years.WINEMAKINGThe most westerly zone of the Barossa, known as the Western Slopes, gives rise to some of the richest expressions of Shiraz from the Barossa. Marananga, centred in the North West quadrant of the Barossa provides some of the Valleys most powerful wines.
