Murray Street Vineyards might be a recent addition to the Barossa Valley elite, but it hasn't taken Andrew Seppelt and his team to firmly place themselves at the pointy end of quality in the Barossa. With access to some of the oldest vineyards in the Valley, Murray Street are able to produce wines like this Red Label Shiraz that are bursting with varietal aromas and flavours. Dark, purple and blueberry fruit with a fine and integrated tannin structure. A beautifully balanced wine.

John Duval was the Chief Winemaker at Penfolds from 1986 - 2002, entrusted to make some of Australia's most iconic wines. This traditional old vine blend is a superb expression of the Barossa. Savoury, spice and subtle oak sweetness on the nose lead to smooth, seamless palate laden with plum jam and liquorice fruit.

Formed in 2005, Artisans of Barossa is a group of wine producers with a like-minded approach to winemaking and wine enjoying. This wine is blended from barrels selected by the winemakers from each of their cellars. On the nose, there are aromas of dark plum and chocolate with hints of cardamom pod, clove, aniseed and cracked black pepper. The palate is rich with dark fruits and dark chocolate supported by a long savoury line of gentle tannin. The wine finishes smooth and long in the classic style of great Barossa Shiraz. Enjoy with braised meats or a cheese and charcuterie board.

The Venus Express is best described as a feminine Barossan blend. A voluptuous medium body yet full-flavoured and approachable wine to entice the 'I don't drink red wine' novice or enchant and delight the connoisseur alike. Bright red fruit of cherry and raspberry and strawberry. Layers of delecate yet overt florals, combine with redskin confection and spice, all wrapped around a delicious caramel core. The Holy Trinity is a richly flavoured and elegantly structured GSM that continues the long and lauded heritage for this traditional blend in the Barossa Valley. The nose is awash with ripe raspberries, plums and sweet spices of vanilla. The full-bodied wine is filled with vibrant flavours of fresh red fruits and vanilla, complemented by fine and ripe tannins that run the length of the palate. The dense, mouth-filling mid palate and long, textural finish combine to create a wine that is rich and elegant, sweet and savoury, and will sit beautifully on any table now, or cellar gracefully for 8-15 years.

Elderton is one of Australia's great Shiraz producers, year in and year out. Brimming with ripe juicy blood-plum and chocolate flavours, this is almost like Black Forest cake in a bottle!

A myriad of mulberry, wild thyme and enticing savoury undertones are interwoven with layers of ripe summer berries. The palate displays both generosity and restraint, with plump and supple tannins that are supported by an amalgam of summer ripened plums.

Kym Teusner's Joshua is a fresh and lively fruit driven wine produced entirely free from oak influence. The nose offers Summer berries and sweet spice, and the palate is juicy and peppery with a long finish. Superb drinking on its own or with a wide variety of cuisine.

Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
