The fruit for this impressive malbec is picked from young vines grown at altitude in Mendoza. The altitude contributes to the vitality of this generously flavoured red. There is good integration of oak whilst the wine remains focused on a fresh fruit profile on the palate, and is complemented stylishly by violet aromatics.

Deep red with a purple hue. Aromas of dark berries and chocolate. Full of striking dark berry flavours that linger on the palate with elegant oak spice and fine tannins providing structure.

Lip-smacking, ripe black fruit flavours coat the mouth. Theres a lovely richness to these brightly defined, saturated fruit flavours. The brainchild of Guy Anderson and Thierry Boudinaud, Fat Bastard Wines came into being via an exclamation, "Now that is what you call a Fat Bastard!" The comment came in response to a barrel of experimental Chardonnay that Thierry had left on lees for an extended maturation. Both Guy and Thierry felt that the wines had to be shared with the world, and so Fat Bastard Wines was born. Now, the pair work with wineries and vineyards from all over the world, sourcing fruit and juice from a myriad different regions and countries. But one factor remains the same: they make unapologetically full-bodied wines, packed with flavour and vibrancy.

This elegant and complex Malbec was aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels and expresses aromas of black fruit, jam and vanilla, with a subtle touch of liquorice. This wine has a great structure and lingering finish.
