Oakridge 864 Pinot Noir is a true single vineyard expression of Pinot Noir by one of the Yarra Valley's premier producers. Delicate pale yellow with an edge of green in colour, this sparkling wine is made from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The bouquet is bright and driven by lemon, pear skin and an exotic subtle marzipan perfume mixed with suggestions of baked French pastry. The palate is lively and also exhibits fresh lemon, Granny Smith apples complemented by an interwoven chalky minerality. Château de Bligny is a unique Champagne house in that it is the only house to have the 'Château' appellation attributed to it as a boutique style. Built in the heart of the Côte des Bars by the Marquis de Dampierre,Château de Bligny produces a Grande Réserve here of utmost elegance. A non-vintage Champagne and a 50/50 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend, the Grande Réserve is golden yellow in colour with a mineral bouquet that gives way to a complex rich palate that has extreme length.

The wine expresses characters of lemon curd, glazed apricot Danish, ginger snap and orange blossom team with savoury underlying buckwheat, lanolin and toasty char complexity. These work in concert with a tactile calcareous interplay underpinning a silky pear-like texture. A lingering line of acidity provides the backbone but allows for the richness, weight and flavour, directing to a resounding and expansive finish. where body, flavour & palate weight co-exist with structure, texture and restrained acidity. Complex fruit characters of white nectarine, saffron, Pink Lady apple, chamomile flower, cashews and Leatherwood honey work in concert with a tactile interplay of chalk, silkiness and Beurre Bosc pear-like texture. Subtle acidity provides the backbone conveying the fruit and weight to a resounding finish.

Vibrant purple red. Lifted fragrant and fresh black and redcurrant fruit followed by jasmine like florals, ground spices, summer pudding and pannacotta. A secondary look with air shows whole bunch notes of spice and sauvage adding complexity. The palate is juicy soft and round, laced with black fruit, raspberries, white pepper and spices. Very much medium bodied, this has beautiful line of acidity that adds length and balance to the velvety, gentle core of sweet fruit. A pure, fresh, fragrant wine.

This classic Yarra Valley Shiraz from Yeringberg is showing those trademark Shiraz characters of cracked black pepper and great fruit weight, there is also some good concentration and a long powdery tannin finish.
