Made using a tradition family recipe and Queensland barley aged for 7 years in ex redwine reconditioned French Oak barriques with American oak heads. This whisky displays rich luxurious amber colour, sweet honey and spice on the nose. Complex sherry, port and vanilla on the palate. Perfect for celebrating births, weddings, wakes and anything in between.

Fortis, meaning brave, bold is an Australian single malt whisky which celebrates local ingredients and the red wine barrel maturation Starward is known for. The first higher ABV release for Starward, Fortis is matured in 100% American Oak red wine barrels to give it a fuller and richer mouthfeel.

Tasting notes courtesy of Mark Nicholson Colour: Dark copper Nose: Caramel & raisins Palate: Lifted floral notes, caramel and dried fruit sweetness with some white pepper savory hints Finish: Delicious long and slightly dry finish which is indicative of some very fine old wood. A slightly smokey note that suggests peat but comes from the heavy cask charring.
