Bright salmon-pink in colour. This wine is a non-vintage blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with notes of wild strawberries and freshly baked pastry. The palate has a delicate balance of red berries, fine acidity and a rich, creamy texture.

A fresh, lively palate of green apple and lemon with hints of toasted biscuit. Pinot Noir (67%) and Chardonnay (33%) sourced from the Josef Chromy's estate vineyard at Relbia in northern Tasmania. Whole bunches of hand-picked fruit are gently pressed to ensure delicate flavours. After primary ferment the wine is tiraged with no malolactic fermentation and disgorged after 18 months on yeast lees to retain crisp, fresh flavours.

The wine is spectacularly fragrant, with the powerful aromatic coterie on show (the bright cherry and rose petal character that made us fall in love with RIcky's wines in the first place). It's then quite savoury and earthen on the palate, with the pin-boned texture of Tassie Pinot tannin's telling us that time will be a great friend to this wine. Exemplary stuff, with a promise of more to come. The TMV18 Pinot Noir features the fundamental components of the Two Tonne house style. It has a whole bunch backbone, 25% inclusion, which works in combination with a fresh, fruit driven lift due to partial carbonic maceration. A very gentle approach to fermentation is followed by maturation for 9 months in a mix of seasoned and new (15%) new French oak, on lees. Racked and blended, this wine was bottled without fining or filtration. Two Tonne Tasmania began in 2013, when a young local winemaker, nudged into the tightly held Tamar Valley by sourcing literally a couple of tonnes of Pinot Noir. This project is all about eking out small parcels of fruit, giving them lots of love, finding their true potential.
