Grant Burge reds always display classic Barossa style. This Shiraz has all the hallmarks with ripe cherry fruit smoky overtones and a good measure of sweet vanillin oak. In recent years has really began to hit its straps and with the last few Barossa vintages being on the warm side, this is a wine for the 'old school' Shiraz lover.

If you love your big, bold and brash Barossa Shiraz, then look no further. Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz produce wine of utmost power and strength. Their Gnarly Dudes is a perfect example. Bold black and blue fruits dominate with a healthy smattering of oak to hold everything in place. Sumptuous!

Laughing Jack Greenock Shiraz is sourced from vineyards exclusively in the Greenock sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Located in the Valley's western edge, Greenock imparts warm, plush fruit characters with a dark chocolate and leather backbone. The Laughing Jack shows all of these qualities in abundance, especially the dark chocolate aspect with real concentration of flavour. A very powerful wine.

Shiraz made with a family story in mind. Its a story about a cow but you will need to buy the wine to find out more. Alternatively you could ring the winery. Estate grown Shiraz from the Greenock vineyard. A quieter style of Shiraz with finesse and elegance.

St Hallett Butchers Cart Shiraz gives vibrant and rich blueberry and dark cherry with a hint of mocha. A bold an opulent palate, filled with generous red berry fruits, dark plums and completed by supple supportive tannins.

Strikingly vivid in colour with deep purple and magenta. There are energetic aromatics showing fresh, pure expression of fruit. Aromas of violets, dark rose, sweet plum, spice, licorice and fruitcake emanate from the glass. The palate is bursting with rich and bright dark fruit flavours. Well structured, with natural tannins providing a muscular framework the wine is full in body, flavour and mouth feel. A touch of creaminess leads to a lengthy finish completing this resplendent wine. The Glaetzer name comes with as much heritage as this classic Australian blend. Rich, ripe and full bodied, this unfiltered red is a parfait of mouthfilling complexity. Made by Ben Glaetzer, the Anaperenna Shiraz Cab is not only striking in label, it's also striking on the palate. Destined to be a long lived blend with the Cabernet structure keeping the plush and vibrant Shiraz fruit in check.

Murray Street Vineyards might be a recent addition to the Barossa Valley elite, but it hasn't taken Andrew Seppelt and his team to firmly place themselves at the pointy end of quality in the Barossa. With access to some of the oldest vineyards in the Valley, Murray Street are able to produce wines like this Red Label Shiraz that are bursting with varietal aromas and flavours. Dark, purple and blueberry fruit with a fine and integrated tannin structure. A beautifully balanced wine.

Joshua was Teusners very first wine. Named for co-founder Mick Pages first son, Joshua is a blend of mostly old vine Grenache, a good measure of Mataro and a dollop of Shiraz. Unoaked and released young, this wine carries with it the Teusner belief that the best Barossa wines are made when Grenache meets Shiraz meets Mataro.

2014 Z Wine Section 3146 Barossa Valley Shiraz. Shiraz performed well with high baumes and low yields keeping us on or toes. Ripe fruit flavour and good weighted wines helped us shape a classic and popular Barossa style with loads of raspberry, licorice, black pepper and chocolate for complexity.
