The Army Block Semillon is an isolated parcel from the highly regarded Black Cluster Vineyard in Pokolbin in The Hunter Valley. The grapes were handpicked from low yielding vines to minimise skin contact and preserve the fresh, delicate flavours of the variety and ensure excellent concentration of fruit flavour.​ ​

A true expression of all that makes Hunter Valley Semillon the treasure it is. An incredibly ageworthy wine, our 2013 Alluvius is now showing the rewards of ten years in bottle. With the distinct lime aromatics and minerality of its youth balanced harmoniously with a toasty richness and generous mouthfeel that make for a wine with continued drive, definition and nuance. A phenomenal expression of Semillon’s ageing potential. Will continue to reward with further cellaring of 5-10 years.

Our SV Hunter Valley Chardonnay is a well-balanced and complex wine that showcases the characteristics of both the region and the winemaking process. Its flavour profile offers a delightful combination of fruitiness and oak-driven nuances. Given the Hunter Valley's climate and terroir, our Chardonnay has flavours of ripe citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit, along with peach and apricot. The influence of French oak brings further complexity. Notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and butterscotch. The acidity strikes a balance between crispness and richness. French oak barrels impart specific flavours and textures to the wine. These include notes of vanilla, butter, spice, and a creamy mouthfeel.

The love affair with alternative Italian varietals continues at David Hook wines. Pecorino is a new arrival, but it was well worth the wait. So latent yet complex.Very pale with a silver fleck. Grapefruit pith, yellow apple and almond aromas. Light-bodied yet very expressive with a bright mix of white and yellow fruit, an underlying nutty layer, mouth-watering acidity and a touch of talc-like grip.

Fun and fresh with lemon and spice. Dry and medium bodied.

Bright citrus, saline along with crisp acidity. Pale gold in colour. Ripe pear, stonefruit, citrus all jump from the glass. Medium bodied, lovely texture. Very drinkable!
