These Chardonnay grapes were grown using sustainable organic practices. The 2017 vintage had a cool year start with a very hot finish allowing the grapes to ripen with lots of flavour and natural acidity. The harvest produced quite small berries which resulted in very intense flavours. About 30% of the wine was matured in oak barrels for up to 4 months and then blended with the balance of the batch.

This Fish Cage Chardonnay contains small amounts of Verdelho and Viognier, which enhance the uniqueness as well as complexity of the wine. Showing a bright straw green colour, this Hunter Valley Chardonnay exudes fragrances of white pear, tropical fruit and citrus from its luscious bouquet. The palate is full flavoured and fleshy, seamlessly balancing the ripe Chardonnay flavours with nuances from Verdelho and Viognier. This wine tastes best consumed with shellfish, pastas and fish pates.

Tasting notes: This wine is pale gold in colour with youthful green tinges. The aroma is fresh and intense with lime citrus and background of ripe peach fruit characters. The palate is clean and lively with a soft but crisp citrus acid finish Cellaring: This wine is ready to drink now, best drunk young while its perfume is most heady and the palate fresh. Food Accompaniment: Great with Asian cuisine, Mediterranean pasta, salad.

Travertine's Vineyard sits on a limestone formation near the Belford Dome. This forms the foundation for our range of Hunter wines. Appearance: Pale green straw. Aroma: Bright peaches with hints of tropical melons. Very subtle French oak aroma. Palate: Savoury stonefruit and melons. Medium bodied, soft acidity with light oak and tannin drawing out the length of the palate. Enjoy slightly chilled with mushroom risotto or shellfish.
