This vibrant NZ Pinot shows earthy forest floor notes and dark cherries on the nose. Richly textured on the palate the flavours have elements of wild berries mushroom and chocolate framed by quality French oak.

Savoury and spicy with superb fruit concentration and structure, Kiwa Pinot Noir is one of Escarpments Insight Series wines, made to highlight exceptional individual sites within Martinborough. The fruit comes from the Cleland vineyard, anchored on deep alluvial gravels of the Martinborough terrace; producing low yields of concentrated berries. Vinification takes place in open top wooden casks before undergoing maturation in approximately 30% new French oak barriques for 12 months.

Te Kairanga Estate Pinot Noir delivers outstanding varietal character. The nose has cherry fruit with some earthy forest floor aromas and the palate offers lovely mouthfeel delicate strawberry flavours and fresh acidity.

Many class Ata Rangi as the quintessential 'New World' Pinot Noir, the best example of the variety outside of Burgundy. It's hard to argue when you let the supple, dark berry and spiced fruit pass your lips. Considered 'Grand Cru' in New Zealand, Ata Rangi was awarded the inaugural Tipuranga Teitei o Aotearoa classification, cementing its pedigree.

A concentrated, full bodied Pinot Noir that exsudes spices, ripe dark cherries and plums then rounds of with a silky and fragrant finish.

It's made by Martinborough winemaker John Douglas, who owns a small vineyard on Te Muna Road, 9 kilometres west of Martinborough village. This four hectare plot of organically certified vineyard land is home to the grapes that go into this excellent Pinot Noir, which over delivers on value, flavour and style. Te Muna Valley has the same stony soils as vineyards the better known vineyards around Martinborough village. It also has a slightly windier, slightly cooler climate, both factors that combine to make for challenges in the volume of grapes produced but exceptional depth of flavour in the great wines from this valley.

Martinborough some consider to be the true home of New Zealand Pinot Noir, and it's hard to argue when wines like the Martinborough Vineyard Pinot Noir comes along. Lovely medium-bodied characters of asian spice, blackberry and dark cherry complimented by soft, velvet like tannins. A wine of true class that while very enjoyable now, will cellar wonderfully over the next decade.

Touches of smoky clove and exotic spice enhance the rich flavours of sweet red plum and black cherry that burst onto the palate. Very fine, supple tannins carry evenly right to the finish.

Structure and texture sit perfectly with ripe red fruit flavours and combine with intriguing complexity.
