This is on show perfectly in the Te Muna Road Pinot Noir that is sourced from the higher terrace on the Te Muna Road Estate which is planted with eight clones of Pinot in more than 40 different parcels. From this eclectic bunch the grapes are hand-picked and fermented naturally before spending eight months in French oak. The result is a Pinot of class and structure; dark and brooding with a texture not dissimilar to silk.

Te Tera ia an expressive, vivid and eloquent interpretation of one New Zealands most venerable wine regions.Te tera Pinot Noir has vivid dark cherries and red plum characters jostle with a hint of spice to demand attention on the nose. On the first sip, your palate is greeted with soft juicy red fruit flavours and spicy notes in the background. The moreish tannins and a velvety texture make for a memorable finish.

Savoury and spicy with superb fruit concentration and structure, Kiwa Pinot Noir is one of Escarpments Insight Series wines, made to highlight exceptional individual sites within Martinborough. The fruit comes from the Cleland vineyard, anchored on deep alluvial gravels of the Martinborough terrace; producing low yields of concentrated berries. Vinification takes place in open top wooden casks before undergoing maturation in approximately 30% new French oak barriques for 12 months.

Martinborough some consider to be the true home of New Zealand Pinot Noir, and it's hard to argue when wines like the Martinborough Vineyard Pinot Noir comes along.
