The development of this wine was an integral part of a winemakers 9-year, but ultimately unsuccessful, battle with bowel cancer. The first wine under this label was a Riesling and to this day, part of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle to fund his sons education.

A perfect mix of orange zest, ginger spice and ripe pear combine with notes of vanilla and baked pastry. The palate is richly flavoured and delightfully textured, carrying the opulent spice-poached pear, quince and lemon honey flavours through to a clean crisp finish.

Tom Barry is a third-generation master winemaker, and this Gold winning Clare Valley riesling is only further proof of his expertise. Serve as a refreshing aperitif before seafood. Aromas of white nectarine flesh, fresh lime and fragrant orange blossom combine with crushed wet limestone. The palate is well weighted on entry, with full drive and purpose throughout. Native to the southern Italian region of Campania and once upon a time an almost extinct grape variety, Fiano finds in Clare Valley the perfect growing conditions and a terroir very similar to its homeland. Our privileged location with some continental influence and altitude, together with a good site selection, result in wines with strong varietal characteristics and able to keep the variety’s trademark crispy acidity. As part of our Mediterranean single-variety focus range, we have chosen to create a wine reminiscent of its Italian counterpart. Textural with concentrated and delicious lifted white stone fruit flavours, balanced with fresh grassy herbal notes and a creamy yet crispy finish.

This wine has typical Riesling citrus flavours powered by lime juice and passionfruit fruit with hints of toast and honey which develop on the palate which compliment the fruit providing crispiness and multi-layered flavours.
