The oldest expression in our peated range and a rare opportunity to experience a peated Speyside single malt dating back to the 1980s. Crafted from densely peated malted barley, BenRiach Authenticus aged 30 years is a more intense Speyside malt which carries a delightful balance of WILD HONEY and PEAT on the nose. The combination of the SOFT, CREAMY VANILLA, SUMMER FRUITS and SLIGHT HINT OF COCOA coax the palate, while the INFUSED SWEET PEAT builds gradually to complete the unique character.

For Peats Sake! the distillery manager cried, as Peat, the maltman, put far too much peat into the kiln during malting, causing smoke to billow everywhere. Hand-crafted, full bodied, peated blend with specially selected smoky single malts expertly blended with the finest grain Scotch whiskies. Dewars 18 Year Old Scotch Whisky is carefully prepared by putting the whisky back into the cask to mature a second time after blending (double-aging). This method allows all of the older and characterful whiskies to mingle before bottling with resulting flavours of nut and marzipan, to name a few.

Compass Box Whisky's The Peat Monster combines smoky and peaty single malts from the island of Islay and the Isle of Mull with rich, medium-peated Speyside whisky. The result is, as you would except, a peaty and smoky delight with rich citrus notes of liquorice and spicy, sweet complexity. Balanced and highly drinkable this is a very approachable blended malt monster, but a monster nonetheless. Lovers of big, rich, smoky-peaty whiskies, this is for you.
