The 2021 Estate Grown Shiraz is a blend from Tyrrell's Short Flat, Weinkeller, and NVC Vineyards. These dry grown blocks were planted in 1968, 1970 and 1996. These three blocks produce a modern style of Shiraz that has both richness and approachability and pays homage to the classic Hunter River Burgundies (HRB) of the mid-twentieth century.

Tyrrell's Rufus Stone is an excellent example of Heathcote Shiraz at a reasonable price. A rich, balanced wine of deep magenta colour with liquorice and white pepper aromas. Intense dark plum flavours are given a subtle lift from the well judged French oak. Better than ever!

A complex and attractive mix of dark and blue fruits with earthy undertones. Blood plums and black currants, liquorice and spice. A hint of truffles and oak in the mix. Medium bodied, fleshy and supple, the palate is textured and layered. Plum, aniseed and spice follow from the nose and the wine has lovely depth without being overbearing. Ripe, fine tannins and good length with dark fruits and a hint of oak.

Heathcote Estate has quickly emerged as an icon Shiraz producer from a region that continues to show its Shiraz pedigree. Fresh aromatics of raspberries and blackberry primary fruits, hints of confectionary and cedary cinnamon spice are enticing. One of the first commercial wineries in the region, Heathcote Winery was established in 1978. The winery was purchased in 1997 by a group of independent wine enthusiasts where wines reflective of Heathcote region became the focus. As the name suggests, this winery is located in the Heathcote vineyard region of Victoria, and owns two vineyard sites within the GI. Newlans Lane Vineyard and Slaughter House Paddock make up 18 hectares of land under vine. Newlans Lane is planted to multiple varieties, Slaughter House to just Shiraz. The pioneers of Heathcote have created superb shiraz, reflecting minimal intervention, and the natural attributes of the area have been prominent in the wines.
