Born-and-bred Hunter Valley specialist, Aaron Mercer spent years at Tamburlaine, and had stints at Tyrrell’s and Brokenwood, before setting up on his own. He’s also worked in California, France and Germany so brings a great deal of experience to his winemaking, with a a great small-batch range from premium Hunter Valley sites, Tumbarumba and Orange. This is a lively Hunter Valley Shiraz This 2023 “Silver Bullet” Winner at the Hunter Valley Wine Show. Medium-bodied, ripe boysenberry, juicy sour cherry and peppery finish of good length. This wine is medium ruby red in colour showing aromas of cassis, blackberry and mint with rounded earthy Merlot overtones. The palate is richly balanced showing ripe dark berry fruits with well integrated savoury oak and soft tannins giving this wine a lovely smooth finish.

In the glass: Vibrant pale yellow. On the nose: Ripe melon fruit and vanillin oak. On the palate: Shows clean stonefruit intensity with pineapple and tropical depth, lovely oak harmony, creamy flavour balance, juicy acidity and a grapefruit-like cut on the finish.
Hungerford Hill Early Bird Moscato
In the glass: Pale pink. On the nose: Musk, nectarine, peach and white grapes. On the nose: Plump, soft and full of fruit with a sweet mix of stonefruit, guava and grapes, a gentle balancing spritz and lovely texture adding to its charm. A very well made Moscato and true to style.
