The nose is complex with signs of barrel maturation without any obvious oak.PalateThere are ripe strawberry and raspberry flavours with the warmth of the dry grown Grenache showing long and fine tannins with a lingering finish. There is a savoury dry character that is not aggressive in any way with hints of spice. The wine lingers and has cleansing acidity. This wine reflects the terroir of the area and the characteristics of the Grenache variety.

Secret Selection shows all the hallmarks of a big brand style and characteristic associated with luxcury region.Plummy, ripe cherries with freshly crack pepper, mixed with spicy cedar oak in the background. This McLaren Vale Grenache is bursting with ripe cherry and and raspberry fruit flavours, with a lush and concentrated palate and silky textured finish and supple tannins. This big red will pair perfectly with roasted meats and vegetables.

Wonderfully composed and sweetly fragrant, the wine shows mixed berry compote, Black Doris plum, cocoa and toasted nut characters on the nose with subtle spicy complexity. The palate is succulent and plush, offering excellent weight and fleshy mouthfeel, leading to an impressively long silky finish. Harmonious and immensely appealing. At its best: now to 2026.

Positioned at about 120m above sea level and 8kms inland this North/ South facing vineyard is in the heart of McLaren Vale. Winery In the winery The Descendant of Squid Ink Shiraz fruit is treated with utmost respect, ensuring quality from start to finish. With a 2 day cold soak prior to a slow cool fermentation for gentle extraction colour, flavour and tannin extraction are closely monitored with different fermentation cap management applied accordingly. Following fermentation, the wine is then matured in a special selection of the finest 4 year old seasoned American oak Hogshead (300L) oak barrels for 9 months.
