Katnook Prodigy Shiraz is a wonderful example of great Coonawarra Shiraz. Savoury spice and dark berry fruits with a hint of white pepper. An elegant wine with medium intensity and great length. Amazingly concentrated for current drinking, the Prodigy will benefit for over decade in the cellar.

McLaren Vale is well known for its ability to make full bodied red wines, in particular concentrated Shiraz, and this deluxe wine is a perfect example.Deep, dark red. Plum, cherry compote and cedar oak aromas. Ripe, dense and juicy with loads of dark berry, plum and rum and raisin chocolate, ripe velvety tannins and toasty coconut oak. A deluxe wine from the start to the long, seamless finish.

The fruit for the 2016 Vat 9 Shiraz was sourced from Tyrrells super premium vineyards on the Ashmans property with an average vine age of 50 years. Predominately from the Weinkeller and Short Flat vineyards. Winemaking The blocks were all hand picked and sorted in the vineyard before arriving at the winery. All the fruit was then destemmed but not crushed, followed by fermentation in traditional open top concrete vats. After fermentation the wiens were matured in newer 2700L French oak casks for ten months.

A magnificent example of what the Coonawarra has to offer, with a distinctive intensity of both varietal and regional characters melded with a balance and harmony that belies its ability to be enjoyed for many years to come. Intense dark berries throughout the palate with dark chocolate and plum, fine tannins and lingering acid hold together in perfect balance for an extended lingering finish.

Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is the beacon of quality that all Australian Cabernet Sauvignon is compared to. Coming off the iconic red soils of Coonawarra, Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is classic elegance. Chief winemaker, Sue Hodder, is able to craft a wine brimming with aromas of blackcurrant and plum that combine with spicy minty notes. The palate is well structured, long and fine. Crafted from the estate's best Bordeaux-origin Cabernet Sauvignon grapes planted in 1985 on terra rossa soil and aims to rival Bordeaux First Growths. First Growth is only produced in vintages where fruit quality and varietal typicity is deemed to be exceptional. Fermented for 12 days and macerated for a further 28 in closed fermenters, the wine gained tannin structure and aging potential. Pressed into 80% new French oak barriques and matured for 18 months, developing fine-grained tannins and a tightly structured wine capable of improving over 20 years of cellaring. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep, dense red with purple hues. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, dried herbs, and cigar box. Palate of cassis and dried herbs leading to blackberry and spice, with restrained, long-lasting tannins.

With a name that directly translates from French as 'The Soil', the Le Sol Syrah (Shiraz) pays homage to the terroir that creates this rich and evocative wine. With the trademark Gimblett Gravels stony soil, with exhibits amazing refinement and breeding while not relinquishing body and complexity.
