Château Tanunda 50 Year Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep magenta in colour with a vibrant nose of dark fruit, chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon aromas. An exotic and full-bodied palate driven by flavours of fruits of the forest, blackcurrant and a hint of savoury spice bound together by succulent fine-grained tannins. Glaetzer AMON-Ra Shiraz

Langton's Classification: Excellent

The Glaetzer family have been part of the Barossa winemaking scene since 1888 and now Ben takes over the reigns and produces Shiraz of the utmost intensity and concentration. Named after the ancient Egyptian god Amon-Ra who was the champion of the poor and troubled and was central to personal piety, the temple of Amon-Ra is believed to be the first to plant a vineyard to produce wine for the citizens of the temple. This incarnation is rich, full-bodied and viscous to the palate, yet with sublime oak integration and a balance on the back palate that is quite lifted allowing it to be paired with many meals and a prime candidate for medium to long term cellaring.

Teusner Righteous Grenache

The now much sought after Righteous range of wines from Kym Teusner was first established in 2005 with the Grenache and this is the latest incarnation of this foreboding Barossa wine. Sourced from an 80 year old bush-vine vineyard, the Righteous Grenache was gently crushed and fermented in open fermenters with regular pump-overs. Maturation was completed in a mix of French and American oak and has resulted in a modern classic Grenache.

Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

One of the benchmarks of Barossa Shiraz, Peter Lehmann's Stonewell is a classic example of the rich concentrated old vine style. While bold on the palate, there is always an inherent complexity to the Stonewell that enables it to be compared with all of the great Australian wines produced today.

Utopos Cabernet Shiraz

70% Cabernet Sauvignon/30% shiraz, cocoa and coffee notes with eucalypt and red fruit flavours.

Charles Melton Nine Popes

The original Australian "Rhône Ranger", Charlie Melton can be credited as the pioneer in reviving old vine Grenache based wines. By taking a stance against the government funded vine pull scheme of the 1980's, he has single handedly saved some of the worlds most ancient vineyards. His Nine Popes now stands as a beacon of quality amongst other great "GSM" blends.

Grant Burge Wines Shadrach

Langmeil Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon Cork

50 Year Old Vines Shiraz

Powerfully intense aniseed, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry fruit aromas, with ginger, mint notes. Vigorous and fleshy with generous blueberry, blackberry flavors, excellent mid-palate richness and plentiful brambly-chocolatey tannins.

Utopos MSG

The 2019 vintage of the MSG blend from Utopos was open fermented as separate parcels and blended post barrel maturation. Selective machine harvested. Then transferred direct to open fermenter. 7 day cold soak and 5-7 day fermentation with cultured yeast acclimatised and added at the end of cold soak. Pumped over twice daily and fermented between 22 and 28 degrees C. Slotted screen bag pressed to tank. Racked off gross lees to barrel after a few days settling for malolactic fermentation. Approximately 40% new French oak (mostly 500-600L puncheons) for around 2 years. Balance being 2nd and 3rd fill French oak.

Sons of Eden Stauros Mourvedre

Established in 2000, Sons of Eden is intimately involved in all aspects of crafting wines of unquestionable quality, from the vineyard right through to the bottle. Varieties that the Barossa produces to a world standard are hand-picked from 30 unique vineyard sites and handled through Sons of Eden’s minimal intervention small-batch winery. As a result, the wines have a strong sense of individuality. With a combined 50 Barossa vintages amassed between the Sons’, Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham, their focus on crafting world class wines is uncompromising. Stauros is a Mourvedre made from a unique old vine single vineyard and released only in years of exemplary quality. The vineyard site, in the northern Barossa Valley, is set on ancient soils that have been home to naturally occurring, but rare, stone crosses known as Staurolite. This mineral takes its name from the Greek word stauros, referring to cross.
