Saddleback is the second label to Greg Hay's Peregrine and the Pinot Noir is made using fruit from the Gibbston and Cromwell Basin sub regions of Central Otago. Light, elegant with black cherry and plum fruit, held together by a fine tannin structure and refreshing acidity.

The Main Divide Pinot Noir shows aromas and flavours of cherries and red berry fruits with impressions of raspberries, mulberries and blackberries. There are also savoury hints of grilled mushrooms, black olives and roast game. Ripe fine grained tannins give it structure and length, but these are covered with a velvety robe, leaving impressions of dark chocolate and spice. While drinking beautifully now, it will continue to develop over the next few years in bottle.

The aroma is very floral and complex offering ripe pear, dried herbs and flint. There is excellent fruit weight and texture on the palate, where the full ripe pear flavours lead to a fresh, spicy and long finish. Our Pinot Gris is made from fruit grown on our Tiger and Sinclair vineyards in the Parkburn area of Cromwell. All the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots in stainless steel tanks helping to retain fruit purity and finesse. The wine is full, dry and textural, it displays excellent fruit structure, intensity and mineral length.

The Sound of White Pinot Noir captures the richness and density of fruit that this vineyard provides. Cherries, red and dark berry fruits abound with hints of violets and plum. The palate is juicy and powerful, yet retains a silken elegance, framed with oak tannin, leading to a very long, sustained finish. Enjoy with game meats on the back deck. New Zealand's Catalina water planes (known as flying boats) played a vital role across the South Pacific during and after World War II. Catalina Sounds pays homage to this plane and the beauty of the Marlborough Sounds where it served and made its home. Grove Mill Pinot Noir is rich ruby red in colour, with a nose full of dark cherry and boysenberry and a touch of spice. A savoury complexity and a smooth finish make it the perfect match for barbequed meat with a roast beetroot salad.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Spicy red to dark cherry aromas mix with hints of stalky cedar, earth and meaty notes. On the palate generous dark cherry fruits are intertwined with strawberry, earth, spicy dried meat characters and dried herbs. Good flesh with slightly grainy tannins and a savoury medium length conclusion. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 13.5%

On the nose you are greeted by an appealing melange of powdered ginger, yellow rose petal, jasmine and freshly cut apple. The palate is crisp yet textural, with a core of juicy nashi pear and pink lady apple. A gentle whisp of tannin mid palate leads on to a fresh, satisfyingly dry finish. Crossbreed is our way of blurring the lines between traditionally accepted blends and varietal expressions. By co-fermenting on skins, we have sought to create a deliciously textural wine with intriguing aromatics and a light blush of colour.

100% Central Otago Pinot hand harvested in the Cromwell area. Low yields, small lot fermentations, and gentle handling have produced an opulent wine with silky texture and a powerful finish.
