Hawkshead was the first home in New Zealand of Denis Marshall’s ancestor, naturalist William Swainson, Fellow of the Royal Society, who arrived to make his home here in 1841. Denis Marshall & Ulrike Kurenbach dedicate their wines to all those who have made this beautiful country their home. Grapes are hand-picked, de-stemmed and matured in French oak barrels. Minimal intervention in the winery and sustainable wine growing are our principles.

Timeless techniques are used to make Gibbston Valley Gold River Wines. Handpicked fruit is gently crafted into premium Central Otago Pinot Noir. Batch Fermented in small open top tanks, it spends 6-9 months in 100% French Oak.

The 2022 Delta Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully from release and will continue to mature over the next five to seven years. With fresh and vibrant red berry notes on release, the flavours will evolve and ripen over time. Excellently paired with spring lamb and roasted root vegetables.
