While Durif is not widely grown in Australia but has a loyal following nonetheless. De Bortoli Deen Vat 1 is an excellent example, showing typically deep colour and lots of rich, ripe fruit supported by firm tannins. Perfect when paired with a thick cut steak and roasted vegetables.

Intense aromas of violets, blackberry and subtle chocolate herald this mouth staining Durif’s inky dark fruit characters of blackberry, anise and smoky liquorice. The well-integrated mocha oak influence and tight tannins adds complexity and depth that persists to a long flavoursome finish and concentrated palate.

This Pinot Noir from the home of the long white cloud offers ripe red berry fruit aromas of cherries and vanilla with spicy undertones. The palate is rich in flavours of cinnamon, rhubarb, tamarilllo and red cherries shine through. The tannins are velvety with a long finish. Ideally suited to drink with figs, swiss cheese and dark chocolate.

The warm even climate of the Murphy family's Trentham vineyard is ideally suited to producing rich softly textured Merlot with toasty oak and berry flavours - great with lamb!
