The 20th of July 1969 is a significant day in history: not only was it the day that astronaut Neil Armstrong took one small step on the surface of the moon, but also the same day Bill Taylor travelled to, and first set foot on, what was to become their renowned family vineyard. While one stepped on the barren lunar surface, the other stepped on rich terra rossa soils with the hope and determination to craft wines to rival the world's best. Since 1992, Madfish have been producing an exciting range of contemporary, cool climate wines inspired by the wild, coastal and pure characterises of Australia's South West. The wines are made by the dedicated team led by chief winemaker Janice McDonald. Creamy, ripe stone fruits fill the mouth on entry, with lovely shortbread and brioche flavours adding richness and complexity. This full flavoured wine is a classic style that rewards with long flavours and length but remaining in complete balance from the first sip to the last drop.

In the glass: Pale lemon. On the nose: Bright, lifted nectarine and citrus. On the palate: Quite delicate and savoury with a bright core of green melon and grapefruit, crisp acidity and minerally persistence.
