Tempranillo is an easy going red variety and well suited to the climate and deep red soils of Northern Heathcote. With soft fruit and fine tannins, Woodfired Tempranillo has modern grainy flavours, ample structure and savoury tannins. This wine will pair perfectly with dishes like chargrilled chorizo and Manchego cheese.

Aromas of Plum jam, Turkish delight, raspberry, cinnamon, black pepper and rusted iron. Despite the bright fruit on the nose the palate is savoury with great definition, length and chewy tannin. The 2022 fruit was harvested in the last week of March following some hotter weather towards the end of ripening. After destemming the must was fermented on skins for 9 days before pressing. A wine inspired by some of the great producers of the southern Rhône it is fresh and expressive in its early life.

Owen and Cassandra Inglis purchased the boutique property in 2004 and immediately set about making their vision become a reality. Their Sidewood Shiraz displays that vision to perfection.
