Forbes & Forbes Single Vineyard Riesling captures classic Eden Valley character from a high-altitude site around Springton, on ancient, rocky soils that give both intensity and line. Vines are hand picked at genuine flavour ripeness rather than searing austerity, then whole-bunch pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel to preserve citrus, florals and mineral detail. The result is a Riesling that typically shows lime, lemon and green apple over crushed stone, with some vintages layering in subtle tropical notes and, with age, toast and marmalade complexity, all carried on a long, balanced palate of lively acidity and gentle texture. Critics describe Forbes & Forbes as a “secret worth discovering” for approachable, great-value Eden Valley Riesling, and museum releases demonstrate just how well this single-vineyard style can develop in bottle over a decade or more.

Pewsey Vale Block Riesling

Langtons is proud to be first to market with the inaugural vintage of this Riesling, a selection from a very special part of the famous Contours vineyard. When it comes to Eden Valley Riesling, no name is greater than the Langtons Classified Contours Riesling from Pewsey Vale. The Contours vineyard was first planted in 1841, but the distinctive site we know today -- with vines planted along the contours of an Eden Valley hillside rather than in straight rows -- dates from the 1960s. From 1961 in fact, and this new wine comes from a single block of the oldest vines, planted in that year on a north-facing slope. The Contours Riesling is released with five years of bottle age. This new wine -- although almost equally ageworthy -- is a more approachable style and therefore suitable for release (like most other Rieslings) in the year following vintage. For many (or most) the 1961 Block Riesling will be indistinguishable from The Contours. The value here is obvious.

Clonakilla Riesling

Clonakilla Riesling is an unsung hero of Tim Kirk's stable of beautiful wines. Herbal with white flowers aromas with citrus and stone fruit bouquet, it has a clean, ripe fruit and zesty finish.

Kaesler Old Vine Semillon

Kaesler have had their Semillon vines in the ground since 1960, and in that time have made some truly wonderful wines. The now Old Vines produce wine of intensity, focus, character and sheer drinkability. Cut grass and citrus, green apple and lemon curd, it is drinking beautifully now and will improve over the short term.

Frankland Estate Riesling
