The Lodge Hill vineyard is a masterstroke of the Jim Barry range of wines. Adding yet another layer of complexity to this producer's arsenal, Lodge Hill (at 480m) is one of the highest vineyards in the Clare, and sends down a bath of chocolate infused blackberries with liquorice spice. A gorgeous wine.

Inspired by those delectable, food friendly blends from the south of France we have crafted a fresh and aromatic GSM that greets the drinker with savoury earthy aromas and succulent strawberries followed by hints of rosehip and fresh herbs. The true craft of the winemaker is the intricate art of blending. This wine is a prime expression of that artistic talent; the weaving together of various elements to enhance and complement each other resulting in a finished product far greater than the individual components. A cracker wine, fresh and juicy possessing crunchy tannins and savoury fresh mushroom character. The mid palate is full of floral red-currant fruit, with some choc-mint and fresh leather on the finish. This wine is unfiltered and matured for 10 months in older oak to preserve maximum primary fruit lift and intensity. An accessible wine of surprising length and complexity totally slurpable (yes it IS a word).

A lateral shiraz with depth and persistence, morello cherry and boysenberry blend seamlessly into the fine tannins that gently grip, then let go and surrender to the juicy depths of this wildly enjoyable Clare Valley Shiraz.

This is everything you’d expect from a quality Clare Valley cabernet. It’s leafy and cedary with mulberry, black olive and herbal notes. Impeccably structured, it has just the right balance of plush fruit richness and fine tannin; a magic combination of power and elegance.

Bright and taut yet also textural thanks to garnacha’s fruit qualities and bobal’s rounded yet determined tannins. At one sip it is raspberry coulis, the next sip plum jam, another sip and there springs forward wild rabbit slowly stewed with prunes and thyme. A quietly rich palate, but the ever-present tannins and the lick of acidity guarantee dignity..
