Grant Burge is the 5th Generation of his family to be involved in winemaking in the Barossa Valley. Such a long and distinguished history deserves to be celebrated and here they do it with their 5th Generation Shiraz. A Barossa icon in itself, Shiraz from region displays ripe, dense and complex fruit weight and the 5th Generation delivers on all fronts. A delicious mid-palate followed by sublime length of flavour round out a fantastic Barossa Shiraz buy.

Double Barrel Shiraz has a full and generous palate with a beguiling mix of sweet red fruits and dark chocolate indicative of its origins as Barossa Shiraz. Subtle toasty vanillin derives from aging in traditional French and American oak wine barrels. The careful use of aged Scotch whisky barrels for finishing has added complex nuances of almond-husks and also softened the dense tannins to yield an incredible smoothness.

Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz Cabernet is a finely balanced mixture of ripe dark fruits and fine texture. The Limestone Coast offers fruit of intensity with ripe dark berry flavours and outstanding freshness. Finishing in Scotch Whisky barrels has softened the tannin profile whilst adding a slight cherry, crème brûlée edge, due to the heavy toast to the barrels.

St Hallett Faith Shiraz is one of the all time customer favourites at Dan Murphy's Ripe flavoursome concentrated Shiraz from the Barossa Valley with great mouthfeel and length of flavour with fine soft tannins. Drinks nicely now and will age well in the medium term.

Shingleback Red Knot Shiraz has beautiful layers of dark fruits and soft earthy chocolate aromas on the nose. The Subtle savoury oak and chewy fruit tannins gives a nice structure to the wine. This will be a rewarding wine with careful cellaring, ensuring longevity.

Intense, textured and showing pure fruit flavours, Jester Shiraz is considered Mitolo's baby G.A.M Shiraz using the same barrels in which the G.A.M was previously aged in. The palate is full of bright, red berry flavours, a subtle herbal character and an overall savoury quality to the finish. Made to be upfront and approachable for early appreciation, the Jester Shiraz delivers excellent quality for the price.

Cat Amongst The Pigeons Shiraz certainly does it's name justice with a Shiraz that serves it up to the all the favourite heavy hitting Shiraz on the shelves. With an alluring nose of pepper, blueberry, and blackberry, this Barossa Valley beauty has layers of flavour, ripe fruit, excellent balance, and enough structure to evolve for a few years.

With a history going back to George Wyndham and his planting of vines in 1830, this heritage is honoured with varietal styles like this Shiraz. Rich plum and berry fruit flavours complemented by soft tannins and well-integrated oak. A great wine with a variety of red meat and tomato based pasta dishes.

Steve Maglieri's Serafino Sorrento Shiraz, is one the most flavourful McLaren Shiraz's we've seen for quite some time. Spicy and rich on the front palate that then leads to a supreme density consisting of ripe plums and blackcurrants. Wynns Shiraz continues to be one of Australia's affordable favourites. Tucked away in the cellar of many budding wine collectors, Wynns Shiraz has all the structure and pedigree of some of its higher priced brothers and sisters. Rich varietal characters of plum, spice and pepper are woven through the minty regional notes and framed by fine, firm tannins.
