Wirra Wirra Church Block Cabernet Shiraz Merlot

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott and was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, it has become one of Australia's favourites. The 2005 Church Block is showing just what a little patience can do. After six years, the velvet texture is the dominant feature with integrated tannin taking a backseat.

Shingleback Haycutters Salmon Rose

The Greeks first made Rose 26 centuries ago when they settled in Provence, the oldest wine growing region in France. The light colour of Rose is a result of the short amount of time the grape and skins stay in contact after being crushed. Today, hundreds of years later, Rose continues to gain popularity, and regions like Mclaren Vale are now producing outstanding medal winning Roses like this one! Shingleback Haycutters Salmon Rose, Gold Medal National Wine Show of Australia 2017. Aromas of freshly picked summer raspberries and strawberries are pierced with fragrant lemon rind. Nuances of rose petals and a hint of dusty minerality tease the senses. A compote of red berry flavours flows over the finely textured palate which is defined by a lingering acidity and savoury moreishness. Oxenberry Pedler Creek McLaren Vale Shiraz

The Hewett and Colton families sailed from England to Adelaide in 1839. Charles Hewitt moved to the Oxenberry farm site in 1840. The fruit for this appealing Shiraz is from the site where Hewet and William Colton planted McLaren Vale’s first vines, fed by a local freshwater spring. The Shiraz is beautifully crafted by McLaren Vale stalwarts, the Scarpantoni brothers, who back in 2007 won the highly prized Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show. Blackberries, plum, a chocolatey texture, with smooth tannins and a touch of savoury spice, means this suits many dishes from herby lamb to tomato pasta.

Bio Project McLaren Vale Tempranillo Blend

Vibrant aromas of cherry (Tempranillo), cola and earth (Monastrell), heritage rose (Grenache), violet and spice (Touriga Nacional) harmonise. A compote of red and dark summer berries is restrained and shaped by the savoury minerality and textured fruit tannins of this layered and complex medium-bodied wine. The Bio Project represents Shinglebacks ongoing commitment to undertaking native revegetation within our vineyards. The plants were carefully selected to provide benefits to the vineyard by specifically attracting beneficial insects and native birds, improve water quality and restore some of McLaren Vales biodiversity. To further support biodiversity in our beautiful region, Shingleback will be donating a portion of The Bio Project profit to the McLaren Vale Biodiversity Project Association.

Red Knot McLaren Vale GSM

Red Knot Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend displays lifted spicy plum and red berry aromas complemented with undertones of herbs, musk and cedar oak. This medium bodied wine delivers rich juicy raspberry flavours, followed by a peppery palate and a smokey toasted oak savoury finish.

Birds Eye View Shiraz

Subtle hints of oak and soft tannins support the fruitiness of raspberries and red currents in this approachable and very smooth red. Pair with pork and beef sausages with lots of mustard and chutney.

Wirra Wirra Church Block

A much-loved South Aussie red, this blended red is rich in black fruits that fill the mouth. Raspberry, red currant and plum fruits are balanced with fine sandy tannins and cedar oak. This medium to full bodied wine has a lovely balance and style in true Church Block character. Church Block was the first wine the late Greg Trott produced under the Wirra Wirra label back in 1972. He took the name from one of the original vineyards, which runs next to the small Bethany Church (Est 1854) across the road from Wirra Wirras century old ironstone cellars. Over four decades, the Church Block label has become an Australian favourite. Gold Medal | 2016 Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada Wine Competition.
