Domaine de Chevalier uses traditional methods when making their flavoursome white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Fermentation occurs in oak casks and is then aged for 18th in oak, some of which is new. This practice was abandoned by many in Graves, only to be (rightfully) regenerated to allow wines of substance and character to be produced once again. Chevalier's Blanc is a wine that is taut and restrained that opens up over a six to eight year period to reveal a wine of supreme delicacy.

Château Smith-Haut-Lafitte Pessac-Léognan Blanc

George Smith bought this historic Pessac-Léognan property back in 1720 where he added his name to the Château which has remained henceforth. The Rouge from this estate in 2009 hit stratospheric heights and many have waxed lyrical whether their Blanc had also done the same. It is a wine of immense power, concentration and pure texture. Ever evolving in the mouth to reveals multiple layers of intense grapefruit and lemon zest along with a waxy mouthfeel that is pure joy. Phenomenal.

Rob Dolan True Colours Field Blend

A really interesting blend of 40% Savagnin, 25% Gewürztraminer, 25% Pinot Gris and 10% Chardonnay.  In the glass: Pale straw with a bronze hue.On the nose: Rose petal over pear, lemon and red apple.On the palate: Subtle and fine yet powerful with a good mix of white and yellow fruits, textural depth adding complexity and racy acidity driving the long finish. Shows real umami-like appeal with almost salty persistence.

Villa Antinori Bianco shows a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose, fruity and floral, offers much finesse and elegance with notes of bananas, pineapple, white flowers, and candied fruit. The palate is balanced with a good persistence and savoury mineral notes on the finish and aftertaste.
