It features a beautiful bouquet of citrus-tinged tropical fruits. On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious, showcasing flavors of citrus, mango, and papaya, complemented by energetic acidity and a textured mouthfeel. The finish is complex and refreshing. Perfectly paired with Asian dishes, spicy fried chicken, or mixed vegetables, this wine is a delightful choice for a variety of culinary experiences.
Chateau Clos Haut-Peyraguey Sauternes
Few places seem to posses the divinely ordained right to produce Bordeaux’s other iconic export, Sauternes, quite like Clos Haut-Peyaguey. Across 12 hectares of plateau-topping Premier Cru Classé vineyard, Semillon (and a smidge of Sauvignon) grapes patiently wait out summer for the noble rot to set in. We’re talking about botrytis, of course. Once it does, the sweetest grapes are handpicked for vinification before being sent for a French oak siesta. The result is one of the world’s most revered sweet white wines. Unctuous and syrypy; floral and fruity; jammy and spicy: trés magnifique!
Chateau Clos de l'Oratoire
The 2021 Clos de l'Oratoire was picked October 1–13. This is just missing a bit of vigor and presence on the nose compared to the Canon-la-Gaffelière. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, nice balance and neatly integrated oak, though it lacks a bit of flair on the finish. Still, it should give 10–12 years of pleasure. Chateau Franc Le Maine Saint Emilion Grand Cru
91% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. A velvety nose of black fruit and wood; morello cherry, cocoa and ripe blackcurrent.
