Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvée La Tourtine

Yarra Yering Dry Red No 1

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

One of Victoria's true heritage wines, Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Malbec and a touch of Petit Verdot. Planted on a historic Yarra Valley site by the late Dr Bailey Carrodus, this wine is full of complex aromas of plum and berry which is followed by rich fruits with an oak and cedar slant. A wine drinking well now and value for the true wine lover.

Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Malbec

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

Vasse Felix, Margaret River's founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate's first red wine. The Tom Cullity descends from these original vines and represents the pinnacle of Vasse Felix. The inaugural release will be in May 2017, coinciding with Vasse Felix's 50th Anniversary.

Orma Toscana

Château Domaine De Chevalier Pessac-Léognan

From an estate reputed for its ability to produce exceptional white and red wines, this red offering from 2010 is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The Graves producer has the ''ace in the hole'' of noted winemaker-consultant Stephane Derenencourt who has been increasing the quality of the wines through his tenure. The wines have enjoyed a twenty year ascension in the ranks of Bordeaux lovers, noted for their more modest alcohol, medium-bodied nature and freshness of fruit character. Though set to the lighter spectrum, elegance is the calling card in 2010.

Château Clos Fourtet Saint-Émilion

Château Clos Fourtet was once a fort used to protect the ancient medieval village of Saint-Émilion. Fourtet now produces wines of intense blackberry and liquorice and lovely ripe tannins. Always an elegant wine, but balanced with plump fruit to appeal to most. Merlot plays the dominant role in the blend delivering the trademark softness of Saint-Émilion wines. The specific 2009 example is a wine of truly epic proportions. Some have even considered it to be the greatest young Bordeaux to have ever been produced! A cacophony of flavours including blue and purple fruit, forest floor, cassis, red cherries and aniseed. The fruit is clearly defined along with the expert integration of oak, tannin and acid. A truly remarkable achievement in winemaking.

Montcalmès Terrasses du Larzac

Chateau Durfort-Vivens 2me cru classe

Domaine de Trévallon Alpilles Rouge

Château Latour à Pomerol

Château Latour à is an unclassified producer yet amongst the great crus of the Pomerol appellation. The excellent 1982 vintage has produced a Latour à for the ages. Still retaining structure in its maturity, the nose exerts dark fruits, herbs and subtle spice leading to the elegantly balanced palate.
