Cool climate winemaking guru, Tim Knappstein, has really nailed this wine in the true Gris style its vibrant, intense, flavoursome and textural yet has a lightness of touch. A cherry bon-bon on the nose, Estate Vineyards Gamay Noir entices with fresh raspberry, juicy strawberry and sweet, red, toffee-apple. Cherry-red with a vibrant purple edge, gamays soft tannins give the palate moreish balance and weight. Flecks of aniseed and baking spices run through to the long finish. Delicious with depth, sippable with substance, has character and charm, as well as oodles of red fruit freshness and immediate appeal. Tony Bish is at the forefront of high quality chardonnay in New Zealand's Hawke's Bay. This is unashamedly full bodied, with a broad nose of refreshing and bright aromas of ripe yellow stone fruits and citrus fruits along with an edge of creamy and nutty barrel-ferment and spicy oak notes, subtle lemon-curd and buttery notes. The palate has flavours of citrus fruits melded with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty, spicy oak.
