All the hallmarks of classic cool climate Pinto Gris, but blessed with the nuances of fruit character, brought out by the Aussie sun, and lightly oaked.

The nose reveals notes of small yellow fruits and almonds, and releases subtle hints of pear and peach. The wine is supple and fresh, revealing fruity notes of peach, apricot and hazelnut and a final touch of citrus. Overall, this Pinot Gris is well rounded with a brilliant expressive palate.

Church Road is one of Hawke's Bay's pioneering wineries, and its McDonald Series wines celebrate one of its original owners from the early 1900s, Tom McDonald, and his entrepreneurial spirit. New for Vintage Cellars, Church Road McDonald Series Chardonnay is a finely structured, elegant white with subtle oak influence and great drinkability. An elegant yet multidimensional Chardonnay, with a core of ripe stonefruit and fragrant citrus, overlaid with aromas of roasted nuts, subtle creaminess and a hint of smoky struck flint. The palate is powerful yet fresh and restrained with fine texture, great length and balanced fresh acidity

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes used to craft this wine were harvested from lush vineyards, chilled and gently pressed, and cold-settled prior to fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The resultant wine shows a pale gold hue, giving off aromas of guava, lime blossom, passion fruit and floral notes from its luscious bouquet. The complex and intriguing palate is brimming with grape jelly, grapefruit, fresh lime and mineral nuances, leading to a lengthy and refreshing finale. The Sauvignon Blanc is ready for immediate consumption, with a cellaring potential of about 2 years. Pair it up with seafood, salads or lightly spiced Asian cuisine, best served chilled.

Gentle flavours and aromas of lime, citrus and lemongrass compliment the distinct aroma of stone-fruit. A mineral element gives presence to a Sancerre-like textural character in the wine. The fresh acidity is balanced by a tiny amount of retained sweetness.
