The 2018 Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc displays intense lifted aromas of citrus peel, blackcurrant buds and fresh herbs. The palate introduces a delightful lime/citrus based mouth-watering intensity and finishes with a strong textural component. The fruit was machine harvested at night or in the cool of the morning, gently crushed and pressed then fermented with a variety of aromatic yeast strains in stainless steel tanks - the sole aim being to reflect and preserve the flavours and aromas grown in the vineyard. 10% of the juice fermentations were started with a non-saccharomyces yeast and 3% of the blend was barrel fermented. After fermentation, the wine was kept in contact with the lees for five months. This classic technique enhances creaminess and integrates flavours.

Atop the ridge, Beachwood fruit is removed from the coldest nights, and benefits from the slightly breezier summer days. This brings out the tropical, slightly minerally notes in the fruit, and herby aromatics. Colour: Button grass green/ pale yellow. Nose: Aromatic, herby, nettles and white peach. Palate: Exploding fruit, zesty and refreshing. Classic Marlborough characters of peach, melon, a hint of passionfruit, and a lively acid balance clean finish.Food Match: Works really well with creamy sauces, and dips with flavours of garlic or artichoke. Perfect to take to your favourite Thai BYO, and balances well with a rich salad like a Caesar. Winemakers Comments: Lots of beautiful fruit to choose from this vintage. It was a big crop from the outset, so we had the luxury of reducing yield and intensifying flavours. Great vineyard management.

This Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc has been made from grapes sourced from hidden vineyards in the Awatere Valley, which is on the very edge of Marlborough. Light straw in colour, with refreshing layers of lemon, lime pith and freshly squeezed grapefruit, the citrus notes lead to a textural finish with delicious balance. Anna and Jason Flowerday run the Te Whare Ra vineyard in Marlborough according to organic and bio dynamic practices. The fruit is picked and sorted by hand, then processed in a winery especially designed for small-batch wine making. The grapes for this Lighter Sauvignon Blanc were harvested from carefully selected early-ripening vineyard sites, enabling the alcohol content to be naturally 25% lighter.
