Continuing under the stewardship of Usher Tinker, the Pooles Rock wines go from strength to strength. Flametree are nestled in the picturesque Margaret River wine region where they continue to be surrounded by a buzz and excitement centred on the quality wine they are producing. Attention to detail is paramount in the winery where careful site, clonal and oak selections are made to produce exceptional Chardonnay's like this one. Characters of dried pears, grapefruit, melon and fig are balanced with searing acidity and a length of flavour that speaks to its promising future.

This variety made famous by the Loire Valley is starting to gain a footing in Australia. Coriole Chenin Blanc is fresh and elegant on the palate, comprising pineapple and gooseberry fruits with an attractive smoky finish.

Annie's Lane Riesling shows attractive varietal aromas of citrus and floral notes. The palate is crisp and focused, the flavours of lemon butter and honey framed by lingering acidity. Consistently one of the best value Riesling's available.

Allandale from the Hunter Valley produce a lovely Chardonnay that has a great full body to it with nuances of peach and apricot and nice level of complexity due to the new American and French oak employed.

A really good Moscato offering from the Lombardia region, with cooler climate pristine expressions of grapey fruit flavours and a very well balanced spritzy backbone.

Retsina hails from the hills of Attica and Central Greece and was traditionally made from the Savatiano grape variety. Vassilis Papagiannakos has taken it upon himself to raise the profile of this much-maligned style of wine. He does this by sourcing fruit from old, well-sited Savatiano vineyards. He then adds very controlled amounts of pine resin during a temperature controlled fermentation to ensure a delicate and well integrated blend of flavours and complexity.
