STORY = This great and renown DOC represents the essence of Apulia. Hand made and over matured grape harvesting, soft pressing and controlled fermentation, partial refinement in wood.COLOUR = Intense garnet red.BOUQUET = Wide and complex, with fruity notes of currants and plum jam and light spicy hints of cocoa, vanilla and tobacco.FLAVOUR = Full and round, with soft and sweet tannins and notes of red berries, spices and coffee.RECOMMENDED WITH = Great with red meats, roast, game and savoury cheeses.SERVING TEMPERATURE = 16 18 degrees C.

Grown by a co-op of 400 growers over 2400 acres of ground in Salerno, this wine is a beautiful expression of Italian culture. The corporation of these farmers, both big and small, make this wine an affordable showcase of their combined centuries of winemaking expertise.

Intense yellow, not completely limpid. To the nose the wine offers notes of citrus, yellow ripe fruits and Mediterranean herbs. In the mouth is fresh, fruity and pleasantly easy to drink.

Aromas of honey, ripe yellow fruit, hint of exotic fruits, magnolia and broomflower. Complex and fully-bodied, warm rounded, chulk-lik minerality and good fresh acidity.

The base wine is made with grapes fermented on the skins for three days. To ferment in the bottle we only use fresh must obtained by gently pressing Moscato grapes which were previously dried on trellises. It is a semi-sparkling wine, re-fermented in the bottle with indigenous yeasts; La Mossa di Baal is un-disgorged and unfiltered, with no added sugar and no added sulphites, is presented on the lees, cloudy and not perfectly limpid.

Lush yet lively on the palate with notes of black currants and blackberries. The ripeness of the fruits provides a velvety backdrop and make the flavours linger on the finish. A true daily Primitivo red wine, made from certified organic grapes grown in our vineyards.

The name of the hill ‘Versa’ and the name of the town ‘Vò’ that is overlooked by the vineyards where we harvest the grapes for this wine.
