Sourced and grown in the Adelaide Hills, this is a fine example of how good Chardonnay from this region can be. This is a blend of 3 different cultivars of the Chardonnay grape. Bunch pressed and in part wild fermented. Partial malolactic fermentation imparts further complexity. A beautifully textured and complex wine.

True to type aromas of brown-skinned pear and red-skinned apple with a savoury element providing some complexity. Fruit for this cool climate Shiraz was selected from a diverse range of vineyards across the Adelaide Hills. It is deep red in colour with bright purple hues, this wine exhibits lifted and intense aromatics, with ripe and spicy dark fruit characters of blackberry and black plum mixed with a touch of pepper and vanilla bean. A full bodied, elegant wine it shows a balanced acidity and silky tannins culminating in a long finish on the palate.

Petaluma use their impressive vineyard holding in the Adelaide Hills to produce a Chardonnay that shows poise and precision. Sourced from vineyards in Lenswood and Balhannah and then fermented in a combination of one and two year old French oak as well as stainless steel. Lees sturring helps add complexity and texture while the cool-climate fruit adds minerality and freshness.

Cool climate winemaking guru, Tim Knappstein, has really nailed this wine in the true Gris style its vibrant, intense, flavoursome and textural yet has a lightness of touch. In the glass: Pale lemon straw.On the nose: Fragrant pear, apple and lemon. On the palate: Shows purity and generosity with a delicate core of yellow and white fruits, and an underlying nutty layer adding complexity and velvety texture throughout.
