Anna and Jason Flowerday run the Te Whare Ra vineyard in Marlborough according to organic and bio dynamic practices. The fruit is picked and sorted by hand, then processed in a winery especially designed for small-batch wine making. On the nose, this Sauvignon has characters of elderflower and white currant with ripe tropical and citrus fruits. These follow on the palate, which is fine and soft with vibrant, fleshy fruit, balanced by ripe, juicy acidity and lingering minerality.

This Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc has been made from grapes sourced from hidden vineyards in the Awatere Valley, which is on the very edge of Marlborough. Native & Ancient explores the interaction between microbiology and human intervention, of man and nature, through a series of natural wines. The grapes for this wine are organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc sourced from Block 4 on the Isabel Estate Vineyard. The wine style, Pet Nat or Petillant Naturel translates to naturally sparkling and is achieved by bottling the wine while it is still fermenting. The wine is made in as natural a way as possible, harking back to ancient winemaking techniques, it is unfined and unfiltered with no added sulphites.
