Riposte The Sabre Pinot Noir
The cool-climate of the Adelaide Hills has proven to be a haven for Pinot Noir and is quickly establishing a reputation akin to the benchmark Australian regions. Tim Knappstein from Riposte harnesses the qualities of the region and the varietal with effortless ease with his The Sabre. Bright colour in the glass is followed by a lifted floral nose with a savoury edge. The palate is fresh, clean and superbly powerful. A delight.
Sidewood Shiraz
Tucked away nicely in the Adelaide Hills, Sidewood Estate have made an art form out of crafting some of the very best single vineyard cool-climate wines available in Australia. Owen and Cassandra Inglis purchased the boutique property in 2004 and immediately set about making their vision become a reality. Their Sidewood Shiraz displays that vision to perfection. Attention to detail is the key here which enables flavours of red cherry, currants and dark plum to shine through along with hints of cinnamon and spice. The texture is beguiling and gives promise to a wine that will age for up to a decade.
Basket Range Wines Banksia Pinot Noir
Winemakers and brothers Louis & Sholto Broderick named the pinot noir after the Banksia trees that grow along the boundary of the vineyard. The wine is made from grapes that are farmed organically with no additions except for a small amount of sulphur. Whole bunch maceration was used for a portion to add a brighter, aromatic component as well as depth, savouriness and tannin structure.
Anvers Wines Adelaide Hills Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep red colour, the nose shows lifted Cabernet aromas of cassis, dried herbs and a hint of mint along with subtle sweet oak notes. The palate displays ripe, cool climate Cabernet flavours of blackcurrant and dried herbs and with subtle sweet oak flavours. Medium bodied yet with good concentration of flavour, this wine is well supported with fine grained tannins which give the wine structure and length. Whilst approachable now this wine will reward medium term cellaring of 5 to 10 years.

Two in the Bush Shiraz
Previous winner of the Decanter World Wine Awards Trophy Award for best Australian Shiraz under $20. This wine is deep red in colour with dark purple hues. It exhibits intense aromas of plum, blackberries and fruit cake. The palate displays cool climate pepper, together with rich raspberry and liquorice characteristics. It has fine tannin and a long elegant finish.
Fox Gordon By George Tempranillo
Picked from on old single trellised vineyard whose vines produce large, plump berries this wine is round and supple with hints of gorgeous spice and subtle Dutch chocolate. Oaked in French Puncheons By George is delightful and vibrant, yet sophisticated.
Wirra Wirra Pipe Organ Pinot Noir
XO Wine Co Tempranillo
This Adelaide Hills Tempranillo was selected from a single vineyard in Macclesfield in the southern hills. It was handcrafted to produce a wine portraying the uniquely high elevation, red earth, crisp mornings and the warmth of autumn colours. Brooding dark fruits with ripe plums are integrated with a mild oak spice and hints of wild mint. A perfect accompaniment to a grazing platter on an mild Autumn afternoon.

Heirloom’s mission is to preserve and champion South Australia’s unique old vineyards and varieties. Along the way, they’re turning out some simply outstanding wines.
