Heathcote Cravens Place Shiraz

Vibrant dark red purple colour, Cravens Place is the perfect depiction of balance. Fresh aromatics of raspberries and blackberry primary fruits, hints of confectionary and cedary cinnamon spice are enticing. These high impact aromas lead on to a palate that shows depth of flavour, fruit concentration and silky supple integrated tannins. One of the first commercial wineries in the region, Heathcote Winery was established in 1978. The winery was purchased in 1997 by a group of independent wine enthusiasts where wines reflective of Heathcote region became the focus. As the name suggests, this winery is located in the Heathcote vineyard region of Victoria, and owns two vineyard sites within the GI. Newlans Lane Vineyard and Slaughter House Paddock make up 18 hectares of land under vine. Newlans Lane is planted to multiple varieties, Slaughter House to just Shiraz. The pioneers of Heathcote have created superb shiraz, reflecting minimal intervention, and the natural attributes of the area have been prominent in the wines. Bulling's Find Heathcote Shiraz

William Bulling was the first to stumble upon gold in the McIvor-Heathcote area. His accidental find afforded him a legendary name and started the rush of 1852 that lasted ten years, creating many a rich man. An area known for fulfilling the dreams of its fortune seekers, the Heathcote region with its rich Cambrian soils once abundant with gold are now home to some of the country's most loved wines. Much like this classic Shiraz, with layers of red fruits, opulent liquorice and black cherry fruit with a powerful vanilla cedar oak finish.

Place Of Changing Winds Heathcote Syrah

Syrahmi Mouvedre

This close-planted Mourvèdre vineyard (4545 vines per Hectare) on rich pre-Cambrian soil produced fruit of amazing complexity and length of flavour. Bright and light raspberry red in colour, the perfumed nose of ripe berry fruits, raspberries and layered with dried herbs, amaro and warm spice of garam masala. Savoury turned earth, spice, lifted whole bunch (50%) and a meaty small goods character. Medium bodied, lighter on its feet than most Mourvèdres. This wine is all about texture and fine velvet like fine tannins; palate is long, rolling and fresh.
