Red wine artisan, Marco Cirillo, has produced a single vineyard Shiraz with as minimal intervention as possible. Using 90% whole berry and 10% whole bunch as well as natural yeast fermentation without fining or filtering, this Shiraz screams of its terroir. Expressive fruit up front of plums and red berries with small waft of leafy characters. The palate dances across the tongue without hindrance from over use of oak and is a supreme wine for the price.

Exclusive to Dan Murphy's, this flavoursome new single-vineyard Shiraz from the historic estate of Château Tanunda has to be tasted to be believed. Sourced from the higher altitude Barossa region of the Eden Valley, the wine was fully de-stemmed before fermenting on skins for a week without crushing. The result is a complex, velvet-like textured wine with overflowing characters of blueberry, blackcurrant and milk chocolate. A savoury spicy blend aged in seasoned oak. The nose shows plum, raspberry and tarry aromas and the medium bodied palate displays blackberry licorice and rich earthy flavours with fine, supple tannins.

The Kennedy is a blend of old vine Barossa Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Its named in honour of the legendary Barossa vignerons who were instrumental in planting these old precious vineyards. Grenache from 50-year-old vines dominates the blend and all varieties are fermented separately at very warm temperatures for optimal extraction of colour, tannins and flavour. Kennedy is matured in seasoned French hogsheads and puncheons for up to 16 months.

Formed in 2005, Artisans of Barossa is a group of wine producers with a like-minded approach to winemaking and wine enjoying. This wine is blended from barrels selected by the winemakers from each of their cellars. On the nose, there are aromas of dark plum and chocolate with hints of cardamom pod, clove, aniseed and cracked black pepper. The palate is rich with dark fruits and dark chocolate supported by a long savoury line of gentle tannin. The wine finishes smooth and long in the classic style of great Barossa Shiraz.
