The V&A Lane wines from Wynns pay tribute to the wonderful and unique vineyards that are located around V&A Lane in central Coonawarra. This is a wonderful release from Wynns' iconic winemaker, Sue Hodder. A burst of spicy dark fruit hits the nose with ripe cherries, plums and black fruits on the palate. The richness of the fruit is held in check by fine tannins and deft use of good oak. A brilliant wine for right now or many years in the cellar.

Hidden Ridge Shiraz displays lifted red berry aromas with hints of cedar and mocha notes. These flavours surround the palate with a subtle chocolate mint flavour, toasty oak notes and firm tannins to a long finish.

The Brand family story starts with the arrival of Eric Brand in Coonawarra in 1950. Today Brand & Sons is run by Sam Brand, the 4th generation of this family, which has played a major role in Coonawarra for over 70 years. This is a Coonawarra Shiraz of great acclaim and considerable complexity. "The 'Remnants' is a reference to the ancient sea bed that formed the hardened limestone seen throughout Coonawarra. Blackberry, dark cherry pit and elderberry. Hawthorn and kampot peppers. Nyon olive, sea moss and granite. There is a volcanic rock or mineral element that speaks on ancient seabed and time passing its a wine for those that like to ponder. Decant and its linear frame and perky acidity. This Cabernet Shiraz blend from Majella, icons of Coonawarra, is all about bright youthful fruit. Made with little oak influence, the upfront mulberry and blackcurrant characters are supported by fine lingering tannins.

The nose displays lifted fresh pure red and blue fruits accompanied by subtle spicy cedar oak notes. The palate vibrant fruits of plum and blueberry are supported well by spicy oak. The palate is of medium weight with an elegant structure, round and soft with a fine tannin finish and lingering fruit flavours.

A medium bodied wine generously flavoured with chocolate and dark berry fruit flavours. A perfect accompaniment of everything from pizza to aged cheddar and the winemaker's choice, pecorino.

In 2004, similar vintage conditions to the iconic 1962 vintage, inspired Penfolds winemakers to recreate Max Schuberts iconic wine. Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 20, alongside Koonunga Hill and Kalimna Shiraz, were included in the 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A blend.

This Shiraz delivers bold dark-fruits along with rich red-berry concentrates. Touches of subtle oak and pepper complete the palate, supported by a fine tannin structure.
