Mommessin Les Papillons Gamay

Founded in 1865, this premier Burgundy producer has, in recent times, brought their expertise and experience to bear on the delightful gamay reds of the Beaujolais region. Les Papillons, "The Red Butterflies", is produced from vines that have an average age of 40 years. The fruit is semi-carbonically fermented to ensure a supple and bright fruitiness. The finished wine exhibits highly aromatic small red fruit notes with buoyant juiciness and a soft finish. Best enjoyed as a young wine.

The vinification is done according to the "Beaujolaise technique" in carbonic maceration, with a short vatting of 6 days and fermentation at 18 °. Its cherry red color and fruity nose exhales aromas of bananas and candies. On the mouth: a fruit crush of fresh red fruits, strawberries and redcurrants.
