This, alongside a stunning year in Hawke’s bay, provided perfect conditions for Pinot Gris and it shows in this mouth-watering wine.

Deep ruby red in the glass, this approachable Margaret River blend opens with lifted aromas of cedar spice, mint, cocoa, mocha and dried sage. The palate is generous and fruit-driven, showcasing ripe raspberry, redcurrant and red liquorice flavours layered with subtle chocolate and baking spice notes. Fine, powdery tannins and balanced acidity provide structure and freshness, while earthy undertones add complexity. The Classic Collection Merlot by Grant Burge is an attractive modern style Merlot that is jam-packed full of all the fruit flavours Merlot lovers have come to adore; Plum, Blueberry and Blackcurrant. Along with that dense fruitiness comes a medium weight in the palate that isn't overladen with sweetness which lends itself magnificently to food pairing with a lean pork and chickpea salads.

This Clare Valley Cabernet from Taylors shows ample varietal blackcurrant flavour seasoned with some attractive sweet oak. The tannins are firm but nicely in balance.
