A beautifully made Tasmanian Sauvignon Blanc at a great price! Devil's Corner has clean, fresh grassy notes with terrific concentration of passionfruit and citrus on the palate. Crisp finishing with great balance of acidity, leaving the flavours linger in the mouth.

Youthful, pale straw colour. A lifted, fragrant and intense aroma of passionfruit, citrus, snow pea and lemongrass with subtle and attractive spice and musk nuances. The palate is crisp and refreshing. Lemony citrus flavours meld with passionfruit and some tropical fruit tones. The persistent finish is dry with lovely gentle natural acidity. Originally created in 1828 by Johann Gottlieb Boker, whose company closed during Prohibition in the 1920s. This re-formulation was released in August 2009, and uses overproof spirit and seven botanicals including orange peel, quassia bark, catechu, cardamom and mallow flowers.

A limited edition bottling reformulated in 2010, using knowledge of patent bitters and referencing old formulae, medical journals and advertisements, these bitters now attempt to recreate the defunct bottling. Overproof spirit and eight botanicals are used, including chamomile, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander seed and orris root.

True to Sam’s Italian heritage, it’s made from nearly all Montepulciano with a splash of Vermentino to add extra lemony zip. A pretty hue, lovely ripe fruit and zesty freshness. No need to fly north for this one, it’s glorious drinking in any season.
