This parcel was carefully selected by winemaker Nick Badrice. True to its name, Nick describes this wine as 'the ultimate Barossa Grenache'. It offers berries, spice and wild raspberry notes with velvety tannins on the lingering finish.

40% Shiraz, 32% Mourvedre and 28% Grenache make up this lovely rich Barossa blend. Ruby in colour, with a wonderful nose of plum, raspberry and caramel with a supple and silky palate. Delicious wine with a lingering finish. A real winner!

The Parson GSM is a traditional take on three of McLaren Vale's most important and historical varieties. The wine displays hints of rosemary and aniseed the nose. The big palate is layered with liquorice and dark chocolate flavours that are beautifully interwoven into the textured firm tannin structure.

The McLaren Vale can be considered the true home of Grenache blends here in Australia witho some of the oldest vines in the world being dry grown there. Steve Maglieri's Serafino label provides a rich and delicious GSM blend a nose of rose petal and tobacco. The palate flows on with dense coffee and cedar notes that glide across the tongue.

Inspired by those delectable, food friendly blends from the south of France we have crafted a fresh and aromatic GSM that greets the drinker with savoury earthy aromas and succulent strawberries followed by hints of rosehip and fresh herbs. The true craft of the winemaker is the intricate art of blending. This wine is a prime expression of that artistic talent; the weaving together of various elements to enhance and complement each other resulting in a finished product far greater than the individual components. A cracker wine, fresh and juicy possessing crunchy tannins and savoury fresh mushroom character. The mid palate is full of floral red-currant fruit, with some choc-mint and fresh leather on the finish. This wine is unfiltered and matured for 10 months in older oak to preserve maximum primary fruit lift and intensity. An accessible wine of surprising length and complexity totally slurpable (yes it IS a word).

McLaren Vale is Australias foremost region for Grenache, where it was historically largely used for fortified wines and as a workhorse blending variety, frequently with Shiraz and Mourvedre/Mataro. Full-bodied examples rival Australias greatest Shiraz wines and this particular style, which highlights the varietys inherent deep red fruit characters, is fast gaining in popularity. Grenache has always been a cornerstone of d'Arenberg's red wines and this is one of the benchmarks of the variety. Produced from old low yielding vines it is a wine of great character and intensity. Showing none of the sickly confectionery characters that can plague this variety, it's all about elegant, savoury spice.
